3DK Tech developed a metal 3D printing technology that the durability of printed parts is on par with conventional manufacturing, making it 200 times more durable than competition. The technology, called Ultrasonic Selective Laser Melting, uses active temperature control to reduce the temperature difference and thermal stresses, and ultrasonic vibrations to seed the crystal microstructure in such a way that the crystals and the printed parts are no longer brittle. Doing so will eliminate the internal cracking.
