INSPIRE SCIENCE GRANTS

Y-LOT established Inspire Science Grants (ISG) to fund science research internationally including in Hong Kong. ISG is the first-ever non-profit science grant offered in Hong Kong. It is also one of its kind in wider Asia.

This is a response to challenges that humanity and the science community are facing right now so we can radically improve and change lives of humanity for better.

TYPES OF SCIENCE RESEARCH TO FUND

1. Science research under 4 pillars of Y-LOT:

Environmental Science
Space Science
BioTech
Deep Tech

2. Equal importance on fundamental or basic research

Fundamental/ basic research – efforts to expand knowledge of humanity
Applied research – efforts to apply theories to specific purposes, enhancing health or well-being
Translational research – efforts to take research to a practical level

3. Science research at different stages

4. Science research with global collaboration will be considered

ELIGIBILITY

The Principal Investigator (PI) of the research has a full-time appointment as a researcher in a university or academic institution, or research institution.
Researchers around the world are eligible for funding.
The Committee will consider exceptional cases.

GRANTS AMOUNT AND DURATION

Flexible to meet the requirements of different projects. Y-LOT thinks fixed grants amount and duration may limit the design and hence optimisation of the research proposal.

GRANTS CYCLE

We accept grant proposals on a rolling basis now.
