To help kids to unleash their potential and inspire their Science and Technology (SciTech) dreams, Y.E.N. Charity Foundation and Y-LOT brought together the “HKUST SciTech Tour & Code Art Workshop” on October 30.
20 kids aged 8-12 from the Po Leung Kuk’s Chow Shiu Chor Memorial Youth Development Centre and Cho Kwai Chee Energetic Youth Club benefited and enjoyed the day a lot. Kids from Po Leung Kuk first visited the “Fei Chi En Dream Team Open Lab” located in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to witness this maker-space which facilitates student teams to turn their innovative ideas into projects or prototypes for entering competitions. For the second part, kids followed the Y-LOT instructor, actively learned the new digital “language” – JavaScript (coding) during the “Code Art Workshop”. All participants fully utilized their small universe and successfully created their own future drawings.
